The challenge
MEMC Electronic Materials needed to store and handle extremely high-value silicon discs with maximum care, requiring a system that avoided any direct contact with shelf surfaces to preserve wafer integrity throughout the logistics chain.
The solution
Trascar installed a 7-m miniload with on-board loader, lateral gripper with lifting mechanism that avoids contact with shelf surfaces, vertical descent conveyor and WMS with automatic barcode reading on every line. The system manages 8,000 boxes at 120 boxes/h throughput.
